About Me...

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Like many, I grew up in a loving family that was highly dysfunctional and chaotic.  Achievement and acquiring stuff often took precedence over emotional security, physical safety and wellbeing.

Through my own experience in therapy and other group support, I have learned and continue to learn how to have healthy relationships with people and strive for balance within the realms of work, time, family and personal fulfillment.  In my experience, healing is an evolving process which involves self-awareness, acceptance and a whole a lot of action.  Growth is uncomfortable, but it’s worth it.  If I can do it, so can you!!!

About Me...

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Like many, I grew up in a loving family that was highly dysfunctional and chaotic.  Achieving and acquiring things often took precedence over emotional security, physical safety and wellbeing.

If I can do it, so can you!

Approach to Treatment:

My primary approach is Relational Life Therapy (RLT), a model that helps my clients become aware of resorting to “knee jerk” or automatic defensive patterns of behavior. My goal is to help my clients understand the source of their reactivity while teaching them skills to respond from their wiser selves. I have also had extensive training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), as well as a background in addictions and how they impact family systems. I have also worked in areas of Women’s Health and chronic medical conditions.

Here are some of my guiding assumptions:

  • You already possess the seeds of everything you need

  • You are the expert and hold the answers about you within you.

  • Mental health treatment is often about building on and/or restoring one’s inner compass.

  • Therapists who cannot express passion and joy cannot aid others in doing so.

  • Psychotherapy is about helping people move towards a life that is more fulfilling, meaningful, and satisfying.

Since each person comes to therapy with unique needs, experiences and goals, our work will be tuned to what you want from the process. In order to be an effective therapist, I am committed to continuous personal growth and self-awareness. In my work, the best interest of my clients remains my primary focus.

Therapy for Individuals

You are the both the writer and editor of your life’s story. Most often, we already know what we want and what we need to change long before reaching out for help.

But, change is uncomfortable and requires conscious effort to achieve.

Let me help you to look at what is keeping you stuck while supporting you in becoming the person you can be.

Therapy for Couples

Connection is what we most deeply desire, but we struggle to maintain it  or feel it is stifled in its potential.

Couples therapy is hard.

It requires that both people have to offer up what they individually are willing to change to improve the relationship instead of focusing on what their partner has to change.  If you are willing to take that step, I can help your relationship to become unstuck and grow.

*Please note:  I do not accept insurance for couples therapy.

Group therapy can be a powerful and effective way to give and receive support while learning from one another how to foster healthy communication and conflict resolution practices.

Stay tuned for upcoming group announcements focused on topics such as:

-Becoming  the Person  You'd Want to Date.

-Strengthening Intimacy.

-Couples Who Need  to Freshen Up.
